Inspired by the volcanic landscapes, Crater Bowl, 1 reflects my fascination with how natural forces shape and transform the earth. The crater lakes, formed through geothermal energy and time, became a metaphor for the quiet, continual changes within our own inner landscapes.
This piece is hand-built in durable stoneware and layered with porcelain slip to create subtle contrasts in texture and tone — a nod to the meeting of heat, water, and minerals that shape these landscapes.
