A one-of-a-kind sculptural ceramic vase
Handcrafted from fine porcelain, Bark Vessel No. 3 explores the meeting point between nature and form. Part of the Bark Series, this piece integrates the intricate texture of tree bark onto the vessel’s surface, reimagining what a traditional vase can be. The result is a functional sculpture—both familiar and transformed.
Each vessel is meticulously hand-formed, then built up through an intuitive process of sculpting and layering texture. Bark wraps organically around the rim, flowing into a smooth, glossy surface below. A deep brown wash accentuates the bark’s details, while the smooth areas shift in tone from sky blue and violet to luminous white. The piece evokes bark emerging from the vessel itself—nature overtaking form.
