Bark Bowl, 10
Bark Bowl, 10 is a handmade one-of-a-kind ceramic bowl. In the Bark Bowls series, I integrate the texture of tree bark onto the surface of the bowl. I'm interested in pushing the boundaries of what can be a bowl or vessel. The result is a functional sculpture.
Each bowl is hand-formed using high-quality stoneware clay. I then begin the back-and-forth process of adding bark texture. Sculpted bark rims the exterior of Bark Bowl, 10. A green matte, crystalline glaze shimmers from the interior.
